Your Story Published in Canadian Newcomer Magazine

ESL Students

We would like to see stories of 300 to 500 words about "Your First Winter in Canada."

We want you to share your feelings and experiences.

• How cold was it?
• Were you dressed warmly enough?
• Have you ever gone skating, sledding or skiing?
• Have you made snowmen or had a snowball fight?
• Have you slipped on the ice?

We want to hear your story, especially if it is funny.

Here's a great project to assign to your classes.

Encourage students to participate, and submit the best stories to Canadian Newcomer Magazine for the final choice. One selected story will be published in the March 2005 issue (#5) of Canadian Newcomer Magazine. The winner will also receive a copy of the new Oxford ESL Dictionary.
