Cultural Pass Reaches Maritimes
Free access to galleries and museums is now available to newly-sworn Canadians in Nova Scotia.
Thirty-six new citizens sworn in at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic on Thursday will be the first ones to get complimentary passes to 41 museums and galleries in the province.
hr id="system-readmore" />Free access to the cultural institutions is the idea of the Institute for Canadian Citizenship that started the Cultural Pass program in 2008.
The passes are also available to new citizens for a full year from the date they are sworn in as Canadians for museums and galleries in Toronto, Ottawa-Gatineau, Montreal, Kitchener-Waterloo and Vancouver-Victoria regions.
Nova Scotia has the largest number of Cultural Access Pass participating institutions so far in Canada.
