A Super Opportunity
In a world when so much information is vulnerable, when CGI can make anything possible on the screen, and when even your identity is constantly at risk of being stolen – the ability to see the truth and uncover fraud becomes – if not a superpower – at least a very desirable skill.
Security has become a major concern in the financial world and this has given rise to new career streams for people interested in law, politics, international relations and global finance. The growing field is called Compliance, Risk Management, and there are currently more opportunities than talented people to fill the jobs.
These days, financial institutions are expected to develop and administer first-rate monitoring and risk management programs to keep watch over the activities of securities and mutual fund dealers and to ensure compliance with government anti-money laundering and terrorist-financing rules and regulations.
Seneca College’s Financial Services Compliance Administration graduate certificate program provides an edcuational pathway for immigrant professionals with backgrounds in the financial/business sector who are looking for great career opportunities in the banking, insurance, securities sectors and with government regulators.
This two-semester certificate has a September 2012 start date. All students will be supported in a field placement, which provides valuable Canadian work experience and networking opportunities.
In this program, you will take courses that will enable you to qualify for the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) licensing examinations. As a student, you will be required to register with the CSI at an additional cost.
While immigrant students will be expected to pay regular tuition fees, internationally trained professionals who enter this program will be provided with additional supports to ensure success at no cost. Funded by the Government of Ontario and the Government of Canada, this includes free occupation specific language training, employability workshops, Canadian workplace culture seminars and job development support at the end of the program.
